A Map Of The Dark by Karen Ellis

Thanks to Netgalley for this ARC copy of this great novel.

I really enjoyed this book following the life of Detective Elsa Myers as she embarks on a challenging case involving child kidnap.
There's a few twists and unexpected turns that I did not see coming and as the well written, tense storyline unfolds, Elsa gets entangled in the case deeper than she would like.
I thought the insights into Elsa's past really explained her character and the plot moved along nicely at a good pace, keeping me interested.
Fans of thrillers and crime should definitely check this book out.
I will be reading more by this Author.

The Silent Corner by Dean Koontz

What a truly scary and awful idea this book deals with, a whole new take on nano technology and brainwashing in a believable way that really makes you think.
Jane Hawk is a great heroine, tough and likeable with a drive to seek the truth and keep her son safe, though the odds against her are overwhelming to say the least.
The story is fast paced and exciting, violent and thought provoking with a frantic feel throughout, I could not put this book down and hope a sequel follows

Gut Feeling by Victoria Browne

3*
This story was easy to read but predictable, the style of writing was a bit hard to follow at first, slightly over descriptive but the pace was good.
Ashleigh the main character was a bit annoying, too placid, no fire, a little too nice really but she did suit the story.
I much preferred her friends who brightened up the plot.
I really didn't like Lee and although I warmed to Dave, I found him also too good to be true, the ending was satisfactory however.
Worth a read if you want a breezy novel which you don't have to think about too much

The Crockworthy Sisters #3: The Unholy Trinity by Marcus Brown

Another gruesome and tense outing from the Crockworthy sisters, short and sweet with an edge-of-your-seat storyline and a few unexpected twists thrown it to keep it interesting.
A plot that kept me intrigued and an ending that left me wanting more.
Fast paced, flowing and exciting, the third instalment in the Crockworthy novella's leads easily into the next book.
Hope it hurries up.
